The social neighborhood network nebenan.de, which belongs to Berlin-based Good Hood GmbH, aims to further strengthen the sense of community in German neighborhoods. Residents from eight thousand neighborhoods are already networking via the platform. With a total of 30,000 members, the Bonn residents are the most active. Now, more neighbors are to get in touch with each other before the dark season. Ina Remmers, co-founder and managing director of nebenan.de, is therefore planning a new campaign that will initially be rolled out in Bonn. She commissioned the Berlin-based creative agency The Goodwins to develop it.

The 25-strong team from The Goodwins realized an awareness campaign designed to convey the positive emotions of people in a community. Small and big everyday questions like “Oh dear, it’s Sunday, where do you get the birthday cake for mummy?” or “The favorite stuffed animal is gone, who can help?” are meant to illustrate the importance of sharing and support in the immediate environment.

The “Welcome to your neighborhood” campaign will initially run only in Bonn from October 25, 2021. The focus is on out-of-home elements. In addition, radio activities, mailings and initiated encounter formats are also planned.

Ina Remmers: “Through nebenan.de, people get to know each other, come a little closer. And experience their neighborhood as a place where they not only live, but are at home, because people live there who are there for each other and whom they can trust. The Goodwins has developed a very appropriate campaign for this.”
